A New Chapter for Freehold Families: Introducing Four Rivers STEAM Charter School

Freehold parents have been asking for a learning environment that prepares children for the future - one that builds 21st-century skills through hands-on exploration in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Four Rivers STEAM Charter School is designed to answer that call, opening Fall 2027.

Our Mission

Four Rivers STEAM Charter School prepares multilingual and diverse learners for 21st-century careers requiring knowledge of STEM subjects - science, technology, engineering, and mathematics - while nurturing them emotionally through creative subjects in the arts and health.

Learning by Doing

At Four Rivers, students don't just memorize - they create. Through project-based learning, children apply literacy and math skills to real-world challenges. They design buildings, reimagine neighborhoods, and develop solutions that benefit their community. Every project connects classroom learning to the world around them.

Supporting Every Learner

Our approach benefits all students, including multilingual learners who thrive when their natural talents are developed alongside language acquisition. Students will also have opportunities to study world languages and explore different cultures, preparing them to succeed in a diverse, interconnected world.

Enrollment Information

Four Rivers will open with grades K–3 and grade 6, expanding to a full K–8 program by year four. Each year, 72 new kindergarten students will be admitted. Priority enrollment goes to Freehold residents, with remaining seats available to families in Marlboro, Manalapan, Colts Neck, and Howell.
